The inaugural fashion event ‘Fashionova-2023’ took place in Surat, known as the Textile city, and was hosted by the esteemed Institute of Design and Technology (IDT). This premier design and technology institute showcased an exceptional array of garments during the event, including a specially curated sequence featuring prints generated using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The grand event, Fashionova-2023, unfolded at the prestigious Platinum Hall of the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) in Sarsana. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Smt. Darshna Jardosh, Union Minister of State for Textiles, who inaugurated the event with great enthusiasm. Adding further honor to the event, Shri Rajiv Saxena, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Alongside the fashion extravaganza, the Institute of Design and Technology (IDT) orchestrated a significant conclave on the “Impact of AI on the Textile and Garment Industries of Surat.” The panel discussion boasted the presence of distinguished personalities, including Mr. Ashok Goyal (Chairman-IDT), Rahul Mehta (Chief Mentor to CMAI), Kuldeep Sangani (Director, Alliance Fibres Ltd.), and Dr. Ajoy Bhattacharya (Regional Chairman, CMAI), who served as the esteemed moderator. The event also welcomed notable figures from the tech industry, such as Mr. Narendra Kumar (Creative Director @ Zapero AI), Krishna Puttagunta (CEO, Zapero AI), and Sanjay Yadav (Head of Sourcing and Operations @ Zapero AI), as well as Mangesh Kanwate (Country Manager, India IDFL).
This confluence of industrialists and social elites from Surat lent an air of prestige to the proceedings.
